Required Qualifications
Education
Valid AZ class driver’s license (mandatory requirement)
Experience
Proven experience with driver logbooks and long-haul transportation
Key Responsibilities
Route Planning and Navigation
Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS systems, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Travel Arrangements
Arrange travel itineraries and make necessary reservations for efficient route execution.
Vehicle Operation
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
Loading and Unloading
Responsible for loading and unloading goods while ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
Financial Transactions
Handle payment processing and receive payments for goods when required.
Vehicle Maintenance
Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability.
Safety Inspections
Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections while overseeing all aspects of vehicle condition and safety.
Communication
Receive and relay important information to central dispatch to maintain efficient operations.
Documentation
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption accurately.
Specialized Handling
Transport and handle dangerous goods in compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
