Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Travel Agency Manager to lead our Airdrie location. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in travel agency management, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the travel industry, particularly cruise vacations. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary of $36.00 per hour for 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management
As Travel Agency Manager, you will be responsible for directing and controlling the daily operations of our Airdrie location. This includes overseeing all aspects of the business, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. You will manage staff and assign duties effectively, ensuring that all team members are working efficiently and productively.
Market Analysis and Strategy Development
You will study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, identify potential sales volumes, and analyze the effect of competitors’ operations on our sales performance. This information will be crucial for developing strategies to maintain and grow our market presence in the Airdrie area.
Marketing Implementation
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our cruise packages and travel services to the local community. You will create marketing plans, coordinate promotional activities, and ensure that our brand message effectively reaches potential customers through various channels.
Financial Management

Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses to ensure the financial health of our location. You will track financial performance, identify areas for cost optimization, and implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Customer Relations
Resolve issues that may arise, including handling customer requests and complaints in a professional and timely manner. You will address supply shortages and other operational challenges that might affect service delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction remains your top priority.
Human Resources Management
Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers as needed. You will oversee the hiring process, conduct interviews, and make informed hiring decisions that align with our company values and service standards. Additionally, you will oversee payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely payment of all employees.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Experience
We are looking for candidates with proven experience in travel agency management, preferably with a focus on cruise vacations. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role within the travel industry is preferred. You should have demonstrated experience in team leadership, budget management, and sales performance.
Industry Knowledge
A strong understanding of the travel industry, including cruise lines, destinations, travel regulations, and industry trends is essential. Familiarity with various booking systems and reservation platforms is highly advantageous.
