Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our Mental Health Inpatient Service at Prospect Park Hospital. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and innovative environment while receiving comprehensive support for professional development.
Location and Facilities
The position is based at Prospect Park Hospital, Honey End Lane, Reading, Berkshire RG30 4EJ. Our hospital serves diverse communities across Berkshire, including major populations in Reading, Slough, Newbury, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Windsor, and Ascot.
Salary and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of £61,542 to £99,216 per annum pro rata, depending on experience. We offer flexible working arrangements and comprehensive benefits package.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our mental health inpatient service. Please refer to the attached Specialty Doctor job description and person specification for detailed responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and possess MBChB or equivalent qualifications. Eligibility for section 12 approval is essential, along with good medical and psychiatric knowledge.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualifications in Psychiatry, Section 12 approval, and AC approval.
Essential Experience
Applicants must have experience in the relevant specialty or sub-specialty. Experience working in an inpatient mental health team is desirable.
Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. For detailed criteria, please refer to the attached job description.
