Key Responsibilities
As a Shipper at Kohltech Windows & Entrance Systems, your primary responsibilities will include determining the most efficient method of shipment for various products. You will schedule transportation conveyances, prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other essential shipping documents. Your attention to detail will be crucial in assembling containers and crates, ensuring products are securely packaged for transit.
Documentation and Record Keeping
You will be responsible for maintaining an accurate internal record-keeping system, documenting all shipments and inventory movements. This includes routing goods to appropriate storage areas and affixing identifying information and shipping instructions on each shipment. Strong organizational skills and proficiency with various software systems will be essential for success in this role.
Physical Requirements and Safety
The position involves physical activities such as packing goods to be shipped, overseeing loading and unloading of goods, and operating various material handling equipment. Safety is paramount in our operations, and you will be expected to follow all safety protocols while using dollies, hand trucks, hoists, winches, industrial lift trucks, forklifts, and powered cranes.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, you must possess a valid forklift operator certification. Previous experience with database software, inventory control software, spreadsheets, and MS Excel is highly desirable. Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Windows is also required. Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software will be considered a significant advantage.
Technical Skills
We are looking for candidates who have hands-on experience with various material handling equipment, including dollies, hand trucks, hoists, winches, industrial lift trucks, forklifts, and powered cranes.
