You will be the driving force behind the organization’s resuscitation strategy, ensuring teams are skilled, confident, and ready to act when it matters most.

Key Responsibilities

The Resuscitation Service Lead will be responsible for overall strategic planning, organization, and delivery of basic life support, intermediate life support, advanced life support training, and associated training in line with the Trust’s CPR Training Policy and National Resuscitation Council Guidelines. You will ensure a robust resuscitation service is provided Trust-wide with appropriate support clinically, educationally, and managerially.

Management and Leadership

You will line manage the resuscitation, medical devices, and medical gases training teams to ensure appropriate management of individuals and development of the teams. As a senior member of the Resuscitation committee, you’ll provide assurance regarding training for resuscitation, clinical practice standards, and results of clinical audit.

Quality Assurance

The Lead will be required to audit and monitor standards of resuscitation practice and equipment within the Trust. You’ll assist with the procurement and monitoring of clinical equipment used during resuscitation within the Trust, ensuring compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements in terms of training provision, governance, resource allocation, and management.

Training Development

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must be a registered professional with current registration with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Additionally, you’ll need a post-registration Acute/Critical Care Qualification at degree level or above (e.g., Emergency Department, Critical Care, Acute Medicine).

Postgraduate Education

A postgraduate Training/Education qualification (such as postgraduate Certificate/Diploma) is required, or you must be willing to work towards this qualification. You must also currently be certified as either an ALS Provider or APLS Provider.

Essential Experience

You must have demonstrable experience of working in a National Health Service provider unit and experience working in an acute/critical care service front line (e.g., Emergency Department, Critical Care, Acute Medicine). Enhanced interpersonal skills for group facilitation and 1:1 coaching are essential, as is demonstrable experience of delivering personal skills and development programmes.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

A leadership and management qualification at degree level or above is desirable. Experience of working with Health Education England (HEE) and Further Education (FE) sector would also be advantageous. Developed analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to use a wide range of techniques (facilitation, coaching, instruction, etc.) and delivery media.

Employment Terms
