Main Duties and Responsibilities
As our Oncology Manager, you will be responsible for running our Oncology Day Unit and overseeing all cancer-related services at the hospital. You will lead, motivate, educate, and supervise our nursing and multidisciplinary teams while supporting colleagues in delivering clinically effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Clinical Leadership
You will influence service development, policies, and strategies to create the best patient-focused, holistic treatment and care. Your role will include contributing to audits, clinical governance, infection prevention, health and safety protocols, and risk analysis procedures. Building strong relationships with consultants, senior leaders, healthcare professionals, and patients will be essential to your success.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least four years of senior oncology experience and a postgraduate qualification in Oncology. Ideally, you should also have a qualification in teaching or assessment. Extensive knowledge of managing oncology patients from diagnosis through systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) to end-of-life care is essential.
