Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced ethnic baker to join our team on a full-time, term or contract basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in East Indian baking traditions combined with the ability to prepare a variety of baked goods for our diverse customer base. This position offers competitive compensation at $36.00 per hour and includes parking benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and Production
You will be responsible for preparing dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods according to traditional recipes and customer specifications. This includes preparing batters for muffins, cookies, cakes, as well as creating various icings and frostings. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure that every product meets our high standards.
Baking and Decoration
The position requires you to bake mixed doughs and batters according to established procedures. Additionally, you will frost and decorate cakes and other baked goods to create visually appealing products that delight our customers. Special orders requiring unique decorating techniques will be a regular part of your responsibilities.
Quality Control and Inventory Management
You will ensure that the quality of all products meets established standards through consistent inspection and testing. This includes monitoring kitchen and food service areas to maintain proper hygiene and safety protocols. You’ll also organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure smooth operations and prevent shortages.
Scheduling and Sales Support
As an experienced baker, you’ll draw up production schedules to optimize workflow and ensure timely completion of all orders. You’ll also oversee the sales and merchandising of baked goods, helping to showcase our products attractively to customers and suggesting appropriate pairings or accompaniments.
Special Dietary Requirements
Our bakery is committed to accommodating customers with special dietary needs. You will prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, following strict protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure safety for all our patrons.
Qualifications and Experience

Compensation and Benefits
