Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Consultant Radiologist specialising in Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary Imaging, you will join our dynamic Radiology team comprising NHS and University-based Consultants and Specialty Registrars. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Clinical Imaging Services
Providing expert interpretation and reporting of complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary imaging studies including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. You will serve as a key diagnostic resource for our gastroenterology, hepatology, and surgical teams.
Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration
Active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings for gastroenterology, hepatology, transplant services, oncology surgery, urology, gynaecology, neurology, neurosurgery, and paediatric departments. Your expertise will directly influence patient management decisions.
Teaching and Education
Contributing to the education and training of medical students, junior doctors, and specialty registrars. The position offers excellent opportunities for academic development and teaching within one of the world’s leading medical institutions.

Essential Qualifications

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
• Completion of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Clinical Radiology or within six months of CCT award at interview date
• Fellowship or equivalent advanced training in Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary Imaging
• MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
• FRCR or equivalent higher qualification in Radiology
Essential Experience

• Substantial experience in specialist gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary radiology
• Proven track record in complex diagnostic imaging interpretation
• Experience working in a teaching hospital environment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in training and supervising junior medical staff
Language Requirements
All applicants must demonstrate excellent English language skills as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess IELTS/OET certification before obtaining GMC registration. The required standard is IELTS 7.5 overall with minimum 7.0 in each component, or OET Grade B in all sections.
