All applicants must have current UK professional registration with either the General Dental Council (GDC) or General Medical Council (GMC), including a valid Licence to Practice. Additionally, candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or within six months of obtaining CCT/European Community Rights at the time of interview.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must possess extensive experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with particular emphasis on managing patients with complex facial trauma and oral cancer cases. Applicants should demonstrate proven capability in the surgical management of temporomandibular joint pathology and possess broad experience in head and neck skin cancer surgery, including metastatic disease management.

Clinical Expertise Requirements

Candidates must have successfully completed the Intercollegiate Fellowship Exam in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent qualification. The role requires comprehensive experience across the full spectrum of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services, working in conjunction with primary care dental services and the Peninsula Dental School.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

While not essential, experience in performing sentinel lymph node biopsy procedures would be highly advantageous. Additional desirable qualifications include completion of a relevant surgical fellowship, ATLS certification, and completion of an educational supervisor training course. These additional skills will enhance your application and clinical contribution to our team.

Clinical Responsibilities and Duties
