Applicants should demonstrate proven capability in the surgical management of temporomandibular joint pathology and possess broad experience in head and neck skin cancer surgery, including metastatic disease management.
Clinical Expertise Requirements
Candidates must have successfully completed the Intercollegiate Fellowship Exam in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent qualification. The role requires comprehensive experience across the full spectrum of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services, working in conjunction with primary care dental services and the Peninsula Dental School.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, experience in performing sentinel lymph node biopsy procedures would be highly advantageous. Additional desirable qualifications include completion of a relevant surgical fellowship, ATLS certification, and completion of an educational supervisor training course. These additional skills will enhance your application and clinical contribution to our team.

The appointed consultant will have full involvement in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services throughout Cornwall, working collaboratively with primary care dental services and the Peninsula Dental School. You will share responsibility with colleagues for the day-to-day management of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery workload and contribute to meeting Key Performance Indicators for the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
