Position Details
This permanent, full-time Consultant position offers an excellent salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per year pro rata. The role is based at Mid Cheshire Hospital Community Sites in Crewe, providing you with the opportunity to work across various community settings while enjoying the benefits of working within a supportive NHS Trust environment.
Role Responsibilities
Clinical Expertise and Patient Care
As a Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician, you will serve as a clinical expert in the neurodevelopmental field of community paediatrics, delivering specialized care in neurodevelopmental medicine. You will work autonomously within the Community Paediatric Service, taking full responsibility for patients under your care and managing a comprehensive range of presentations within the service.
Clinical Activities
The successful candidate will conduct independent outpatient clinics, utilizing advanced clinical decision-making skills to formulate appropriate management plans for patients. You will also participate in the on-call in-hours rota and be actively involved in the assessment of children on neurodevelopment pathways, ensuring the highest standards of care delivery.

Leadership and Team Collaboration
The post holder will provide clinical leadership and direction within the specialty, fostering a team approach to care through establishing clear communication channels and defined roles and responsibilities. You will participate in multidisciplinary forums to ensure patients receive care appropriate to their individual needs while maintaining quality service provision.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Medical Qualifications
Applicants must possess MBBS or equivalent medical qualification and have full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a valid Licence to Practise. You must be on the Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
Clinical Experience
Substantial community paediatric experience is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, experience in making clinical decisions, risk management capabilities, and the ability to prioritize clinical needs effectively.
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, interest and experience in looked after children, adoptions, and fostering would be advantageous. We value diverse clinical experiences and welcome applications from candidates with varied backgrounds in paediatric neurodevelopment.
