Location
The position is based at G Block, Hospital Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3PX. We can consider flexibility for a degree of remote working, but the primary base will be at this location. Bury St Edmunds offers a quality lifestyle with good transport links to Cambridge and London.
Job Benefits
All substantive Consultant vacancies attract a ‘New Starter’ package of £15,000 spread over 3 years as a recruitment bonus. All new starters receive up to £12,000 relocation package. CPD is paid at a higher level of £2000 per annum with the facility to accumulate annual funding for up to three years for higher cost development opportunities.

Salary Details
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from £109,725 to £145,478 per annum, paid gross per annum/pro rata. The salary is based on the Hospital medical and dental staff pay scheme at the Consultant grade.
Working Pattern
This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, providing flexibility for candidates who may prefer reduced hours. The post is a permanent contract, offering stability and career progression opportunities within the NHS.
Job Responsibilities
The post relates to the West Suffolk locality, treating young people from the age of 18-25 years. The post holder will work in several settings including Trust facilities, primary care, local acute Hospital NHS Trust facilities, and patients’ residences. You will serve as the Responsible Clinician for patients in your care.
Clinical Duties
Working within the YAMHS (Young Adult Mental Health Service) team, you will undertake additional duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. You’ll be available for irregular commitments outside normal duties as essential for continuity of patient care, which may involve seeing people at home and allowing time for ‘hard to engage’ service users.
Person Specification: Qualifications
Essential qualifications include entry on the GMC Register, Approved Clinician Status, Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act, and being on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST. These qualifications are mandatory for this role within the NHS.

Essential experience requirements include 3 years or equivalent medical experience, 6 months experience in a relevant clinical area, and evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex mental illness.
