We are seeking an enthusiastic Radiology Consultant with a Special Interest in one or more of these areas: Nuclear Medicine/Chest/Urology/Breast/Oncology to join our high quality, dynamic Radiology department at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals. Job Responsibilities
The Radiology department is a progressive, forward-thinking team and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the shaping and delivery of the service. We have an active capital replacement programme with deployment of two CT scanners on the DRI site within the last 6 months and replacements of both the MRI and CT scanners on the Bassetlaw site last financial year.
Department Structure
There is a well-established skill mix with radiographers undertaking plain film, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and CT reporting within agreed scopes of practice. As a consultant, you will play a key role in leading clinical services, teaching, and developing sub-specialty interests.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following essential qualifications:
- FRCR or equivalent qualification
- Must be on the specialist register for Radiology or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees
- ARSAC licence for Nuclear Medicine post is essential
- Continued Licence to Practise with the General Medical Council
Professional Registration
Applicants must be eligible to be on the GMC specialist register to be considered for a consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee. All other categories of Doctors must be eligible to be on the GMC specialist register (evidence required prior to commencement).
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable for this position:
- Relevant higher degree
- Attendance at a recognised management course
Experience Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Oncology/NM/Chest/Breast and General radiology. The ability to offer expert clinical opinions on a range of problems within the specialty is essential.
