Working Pattern
10 Programmed Activities including direct clinical care (7.5 PAs) and supporting activities (2.5 PAs)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful appointee will lead a multidisciplinary team in the assessment and treatment of patients requiring treatment in conditions of medium security. Key responsibilities include providing pre-admission assessments in line with contractual requirements, managing an inpatient case load of 12 patients, chairing ward rounds and CPA meetings, and providing clinical leadership to the MDT.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Medical Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, MRCPsych or equivalent, full GMC registration with license to practice at time of appointment.
Specialist Registration
Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or CCT in Forensic Psychiatry (or General Adult Psychiatry with appropriate forensic experience).
Legal Approvals
Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status, and DBS clearance are essential requirements.
Experience Requirements
Applicants must have 3 years approved higher training in Forensic Psychiatry (or General Adult Psychiatry with equivalent forensic experience). Experience working with mentally disordered offenders, excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective, and ability to manage clinical complexity are essential.
International Applicant Considerations
For international applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK, please note that from 6 April 2017, skilled worker applicants have had to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) are also subject to this requirement.

On-Call Responsibilities
The successful candidate will participate in the on-call rota to ensure Arnold Lodge is provided with 24-hour Consultant cover. The on-call rota is anticipated to be 1 in 8, including contributing to a first on-call rota Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
