Essential Qualifications
Applicants must hold a full MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification and have full registration and a licence to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC). Additionally, candidates must hold MRCP or equivalent qualifications and have evidence of a PhD or higher-level education.
Entry Criteria
Candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) with proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview, Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), or European Community Rights. Candidates should also have broad exposure to medical diseases and their comprehensive management.
Essential Experience
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing acute medical admissions, including supervising junior teams, leading medical handovers, and ensuring timely assessment of patients. Experience in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) environments and cross-specialty collaboration is also essential.
