About the Role
The Clinical Director of Imaging position is a senior leadership role responsible for providing clinical management leadership and setting strategic direction within the imaging directorate. This role ensures that high quality and timely care of patients remains the highest priority, in line with the Care Group’s strategy.
You will take responsibility for performance delivery and performance management of medical staff, including job planning of clinicians. The role involves sharing responsibility for the Imaging budget and efficient deployment of the Clinical Business Unit’s resources with the Head of Operations and Head of Nursing.
The Clinical Director will lead on the productivity and efficiency of the department medical workforce and share responsibility for the productivity and efficiency of the department’s other associated workforce members. This is a fixed-term position for 3 years, offered on a part-time basis.

Job Responsibilities
The Clinical Director will work as part of a multidisciplinary directorate leadership team with responsibility for Clinical Governance within the Department. You will collaborate with the directorate leadership team to develop and implement strategic and operational plans aligned with the overall Care Group and Trust strategies.
You will contribute strategically as a member of the Trust’s senior management team and attend Trust leadership forums to provide information on the Department’s performance. This includes responsibility for the Imaging budget and efficient deployment of resources.

Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must be a Qualified Clinical Practitioner at a senior level, such as a Medical Consultant, Nurse Consultant, or SAS Doctor. You must hold full registration with the GMC or relevant Professional Body/NMC/HPC.
Essential qualifications include specialty qualifications or specialty accreditation. We are seeking candidates with experience of assessing and managing risk associated with service change, implementing or facilitating service improvements, and working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable experience includes working as a Clinical Lead and evidence of Leadership or Management Development. You should demonstrate awareness of the NHS agenda at a national and local level, with evidence of effective resource management and experience of managing others.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from £109,725 to £145,478 per year, plus an honorarium payment of £16,794 per annum. This reflects the senior nature of the role and the significant responsibilities it entails.
