Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities
As a Child Care Worker Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans
- Assisting co-workers with housekeeping and cooking duties

Observation and Documentation
Regular observation of children is essential to identify developmental progress and potential issues. You will observe children for signs of learning or behavioral problems, prepare detailed reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors. This documentation helps track each child’s development and informs program adjustments.
Creative Expression and Activities
You will encourage children to express creativity through various media including art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity. Leading activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts will be an important part of your daily routine. These activities help develop children’s imagination, social skills, and cognitive abilities.
Self-Care Skills Development
Guiding children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits is a fundamental aspect of this role. You will patiently assist children as they learn these essential self-care skills, building their independence and confidence. This includes preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
Communication and Collaboration
Effective communication is vital in childcare settings. You will synthesize information about children’s situations and communicate this to parents, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and challenges, and establish guidelines for behavior. Additionally, you will maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
Health and Safety
Ensuring a safe and healthy environment is a top priority. You will help plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children. This includes maintaining cleanliness, following safety protocols, and being vigilant about potential hazards in the childcare setting.
Before and After School Programs
For school-age children, you will plan and organize activities for childcare programs before and after regular school hours. Administrative Support
