Job Summary
We are seeking a suitably qualified Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust. We are a very active department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking to expand our team of multi-skilled cardiac physiologists as our Invasive services expand.
We have a busy Pacemaker/ICD implant and follow-up service. The post holder will still benefit from the opportunity to rotate through all aspects of the department. We are the leading implant centre in Surrey for ICDs and CRTs with an extensive remotely-monitored patient population. The post holder will also rotate for our 24/7 PPCI service.
Applicants should have an extensive bradycardia and complex pacing post qualification experience including remote monitoring and FSN management. BSc in Clinical Physiology/ HTEC MPPM (or equivalent) and RCCP registration is desirable. Extensive knowledge and experience in invasive techniques are essential. Further post-graduate learning for CRM is also essential (HRUK/IBHRE).

Main Duties of the Job
To provide clinical management, education and support in cardiac rhythm management service, working alongside other physiologist leads to ensure delivery of a quality clinical service. To undertake, supervise, and teach at a high level with simple and complex Pacing/ICD/CRT implants as well as an expectation to support PCI and diagnostic angiography.
To demonstrate competency in CRM implants including complex devices and autonomous on CRM follow-ups. To maintain a progressive learning environment within invasive cardiology ensuring the development of all staff. To work within a 24/7 PPCI service and work weekends on a rotational basis on-call.
The post holder will also participate in the 24/7 on-call service provided by the Clinical Physiology department, as required. You will be responsible for ensuring all patients receive appropriate and individualised care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential: BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology or Equivalent, Intermediate Life Support Skills, HRUK or IBHRE in Devices, Autonomous in CRM implants and follow-ups.
Desirable: Training qualification, Higher Professional qualification/Masters level, RCCP/ AHCS Registration.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential: Extensive experience for cardiac rhythm management including remote monitoring service, FSN management and general physiological measurements experience. Extensive knowledge of invasive cardiology with competency in simple and complex PCI, and simple/complex device implants.
Essential: Experience is participating with 24/7 PPCI service, demonstrate competency to lead in ECG, ETT, Ambulatory Monitoring, pacing and complex device follow-up, staff teaching/ mentoring.
Desirable: Staff management, experience of stock control.
Other Requirements
Essential: Ability to wear lead apron, ability to work extended working hours, ability to work cross-sites if required, adaptable and flexible.
