Key Responsibilities
As a chef at Mehfill Indian Cuisine, you will be responsible for estimating amounts and costs of supplies and food items, maintaining detailed records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory. You will demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff, supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers, and create new recipes that maintain our authentic flavors while appealing to diverse customer preferences.
Kitchen Operations
Your duties will include instructing cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to ensure consistent quality across all dishes. You’ll prepare and cook food on a regular basis as well as for special guests or functions, creating memorable dining experiences. The position also involves preparing and cooking meals or specialty foods according to customer orders and our established recipes, while adapting for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Inventory and Supply Management
Effective inventory management is crucial for kitchen operations. You will be responsible for requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, ensuring we have adequate stock while minimizing waste. The role includes arranging for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain optimal kitchen functionality.
