Position Overview
Mohar Law is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Officer to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals looking to advance their careers in a supportive environment while contributing to the growth of our legal practice.
Location and Work Arrangement
This is an on-site position located in Calgary, AB (postal code T1Y 0B3). The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week at our Calgary office, with flexibility available for some remote work arrangements.
Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities
Staff Management and Operations
As a Business Development Officer at Mohar Law, you will supervise professional and support staff and students, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality service delivery. Your administrative skills will be essential as you perform various administrative tasks that keep our practice running smoothly.
Talent Acquisition
You will play a crucial role in recruiting and hiring staff, helping us identify and attract top talent to join our growing team. This includes developing job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and participating in the hiring process.
Research and Documentation
Your responsibilities will include preparing reports, research papers, educational texts, and articles that support our legal practice and business development initiatives. You’ll ensure all documentation meets professional standards and contributes to our knowledge base.
Marketing and Research
Conduct analytical marketing studies to identify opportunities for business growth. Design market research questionnaires and develop comprehensive portfolios of marketing materials that effectively promote our legal services.
Customer Experience
Evaluate customer service and store environments to ensure we’re delivering exceptional client experiences. Your insights will help us continuously improve our service delivery and client satisfaction.
Research Methodology
Design, conduct, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative research projects that inform our business strategies and decision-making processes.
Business Strategy
Develop feasibility studies that assess potential new service lines or practice areas. Conduct online marketing, e-commerce, and website promotions to expand our digital presence and reach new clients.
Consultation Services
Provide consultation on planning and starting of new businesses, helping our clients navigate the legal aspects of business formation and development. Develop marketing strategies that align with our firm’s overall business objectives.
Professional Representation
Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia to represent Mohar Law and establish our thought leadership in the legal industry.
Business Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive business plans that drive growth and expansion for our firm. Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support and strengthen long-term relationships.
Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience in business development, marketing, or a related field. Experience in the legal or professional services sector would be considered a significant advantage.
