Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Business Development Advisor to join our team on a full-time, term or contract basis. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $47.25 for 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options including day, evening, and weekend hours. This role is based on-site in Calgary at our T2P 0N4 location and is designed to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping businesses grow and succeed in our local economy.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Advisor at QAKARE, you will be responsible for administering programs that promote industrial and commercial business investment in both rural and urban areas. Your primary duties will include performing various administrative tasks to support these initiatives and ensuring smooth operations of our business development programs.
Client Engagement
You will be the first point of contact for members of the business community, responding to their inquiries regarding development opportunities. This involves providing information, guidance, and support to entrepreneurs and business owners who are looking to expand or establish their operations in the Calgary area. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide valuable insights will be essential in building strong relationships with our clients.
Market Research
A significant portion of your role will involve conducting surveys and analyzing data on the buying habits and preferences of wholesale and retail consumers. This market research will provide valuable insights that help businesses understand their target audience better. You will be expected to design effective market research questionnaires and ensure the data collected is accurate and representative of the market.
Competitive Analysis
You will conduct comparative research on marketing strategies for industrial and commercial products. This involves analyzing what competitors are doing, identifying best practices, and recommending strategies that will help our clients gain a competitive edge. The ability to think critically and identify opportunities for differentiation will be key to success in this area.
Program Administration
Our Business Development Advisor will be responsible for the administration of various programs designed to support business growth. Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, and MS Word. Technical Proficiency
Advanced skills in MS Excel are particularly important, as you will be working extensively with data analysis and creating reports.
