Key Responsibilities
AI System Design
Design and develop innovative AI systems and algorithms that support UBC’s research and educational objectives. This includes creating machine learning models, neural networks, and other AI architectures tailored to specific academic and research needs.
Research Collaboration
Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and students across various departments to identify AI opportunities and develop solutions that enhance research capabilities and educational outcomes.
Prototype Development
Create functional prototypes of AI systems, conduct testing and validation, and iterate designs based on feedback and performance metrics.
Technical Documentation
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation guides, and user manuals for AI systems developed.
Knowledge Transfer
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to help researchers and students understand and effectively utilize the AI tools and systems you develop.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements
We are seeking candidates with advanced degrees in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related fields. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred, but exceptional candidates with Bachelor’s degrees and significant relevant experience will be considered.
Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or C++, along with experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and big data technologies is highly desirable.
Professional Experience
