Job Overview
We are seeking a User Support Technician to join our IT team and provide essential technical support services across our healthcare facilities. Compensation and Benefits

Work Location and Schedule
The position is based at our facility located at 510 Ingersoll Ave, suite 207, Woodstock, ON N4S 4X9. This is an on-site position requiring your physical presence during work hours. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with daytime hours. The position starts as soon as possible, offering immediate opportunity for the right candidate.
Role Responsibilities
Network Access Management
As a User Support Technician, you will be responsible for managing and providing appropriate access to computer networks for all authorized users. This includes implementing security protocols, monitoring access logs, and ensuring compliance with organizational IT policies.
System Performance Reporting
You will monitor and report on the performance of computer systems and networks, identifying potential issues before they impact operations. Regular performance analysis and reporting will be essential to maintain optimal IT infrastructure performance.
User Technical Support
Responding to users experiencing difficulties with computer systems, applications, or equipment will be a primary responsibility of your role. You’ll troubleshoot issues, provide solutions, and ensure minimal disruption to healthcare operations.
Technical Research and Implementation
Consult user guides, technical manuals, and other documentation to research and implement solutions for complex technical problems. This requires strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems.
User Training and Support
Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties. This includes creating training materials, conducting individual or group training sessions, and developing user-friendly documentation to enhance digital literacy across the organization.
Problem Documentation
Collect, organize, and maintain a comprehensive problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts. This knowledge management system will help improve efficiency and consistency in technical support delivery.
Software Development Participation
Participate in the redesign of applications and other software to improve functionality, user experience, and system integration. Your technical input will be valuable in the evolution of our healthcare IT systems.
Team Supervision
Supervise 1-2 other technical support workers in this group, providing guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance for their work. This leadership component will help develop the skills of team members and ensure consistent service delivery.
Business Systems Support
Provide business systems, network and Internet support to users in response to identified difficulties. This includes supporting specialized healthcare applications and ensuring seamless connectivity across all systems.
Equipment Setup and Installation
Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. This hands-on work is crucial for maintaining an efficient and functional IT environment.
Web Server Management
Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and business continuity. This critical maintenance task protects organizational data and supports reliable access to web-based services.
Customer Service Excellence
Provide exceptional customer service to all users, demonstrating patience, empathy, and technical expertise. Your interactions with staff will significantly impact their experience with IT services.
Incident Management
Manage incidents from identification through resolution, ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, and escalation when necessary. A systematic approach to incident management will minimize service disruptions.
Green Economy Sector Contribution
Work within our green economy sector initiatives, implementing sustainable IT practices, energy-efficient solutions, and environmentally responsible technology management approaches.
Required Experience and Skills
Candidates should have experience with Linux operating systems and desktop applications. Experience in the green economy sector will be considered an asset. You should possess strong problem-solving abilities, technical aptitude, and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with healthcare IT systems is advantageous, though not mandatory.
