Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welder to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This position offers competitive compensation at $36.50 per hour for 30 to 35 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
As a Welder with Express GTA Truck & Trailer Repair Inc, you will be responsible for:
Welding Operations
You will interpret welding process specifications and operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment. Your duties include reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes. You’ll examine completed welds to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
Metal Fabrication
The role involves operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and performing various metal shaping tasks. You’ll use brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines. Additionally, you’ll fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components as needed for our repair operations.
Specialized Equipment Operation
You’ll be trained to operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air or AOC) and determine the weldability of various materials. The position also involves operating hoisting and lifting equipment safely and efficiently. You’ll use previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
Advanced Techniques
Our welders are expected to operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal. You’ll also start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines. Additionally, you’ll maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Computer-Aided Design
Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) systems will be beneficial as you may need to interpret digital specifications and plans for various welding and fabrication projects.
