Job Overview
We are seeking qualified and motivated Insulators to join our team in Woodbridge, ON (Toronto area). This is a permanent, full-time position offering an hourly wage of $36.50 for 40 hours per week. The position is available immediately with 5 vacancies to fill. Location and Work Environment
The position is located at 320 HANLAN ROAD, Woodbridge, ON L4L 3T4. Work is conducted on-site at various client locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area. As an insulator, you will work in both indoor and outdoor environments, requiring you to adapt to different conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
As an Insulator with SWIFT MECHANICAL SERVICES INC., you will play a crucial role in ensuring buildings are properly insulated for energy efficiency, comfort, and safety. Your primary responsibilities will include selecting the appropriate type of insulation for each project, measuring and cutting insulating materials to required specifications, and installing insulation using various methods.
Installation Methods and Techniques
You will be expected to apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other application and installation methods. This requires a steady hand, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to meet project deadlines. You will need to fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs, ensuring complete coverage and proper installation.
Vapour Barriers and Safety Materials
Installing vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials is a critical part of this role. You will need to understand the importance of these components in building construction and ensure they are installed correctly to meet building codes and safety standards. This knowledge is essential for preventing moisture issues and enhancing fire safety in buildings.
Fabrication and Custom Solutions
You will also be responsible for fabricating and applying removable insulation pads and covers. This requires creativity and problem-solving skills to design custom solutions that fit specific equipment or building components. The ability to create effective insulation solutions for unique challenges is highly valued in this role.
Scaffolding and Equipment Operation
As an insulator, you will need to assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment safely. This requires knowledge of safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures to ensure both your safety and the safety of those around you. Training and certification in equipment operation may be provided.
Technical Skills and Blueprint Reading
Reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications is a fundamental requirement for this position. You must be able to understand technical documents accurately and translate them into practical installation plans. This skill ensures that insulation projects are completed according to design specifications and client requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
