The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dermatology Clinician to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to provide comprehensive dermatological services to NHS patients referred by local GPs. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering professional and ethical care within a legal framework, adhering to GMC requirements and our local policies.
Location and Working Pattern
This position is based at 83 Brigstock Road in Thornton Heath, Surrey, with additional locations including Kidbrooke Village Dental Surgery (Pegler Square, London), Royal Arsenal Medical Centre (21 Arsenal Way, London), All Saints Medical Centre (Ripon Road, London), The Pier Road Project (50 Pier Road, Erith), Lakeside Medical Practice (Tavy Bridge, London), Gossops Green Medical (Hurst Close, Crawley), and Sussex Aesthetics Ltd (6 Haslett Avenue West, Crawley).
Contract Details
Communitas Clinics offers a permanent contract with flexible working arrangements. The role is available on a full-time, part-time, or flexible working basis, allowing candidates to discuss their preferred working pattern during the application process. The salary is negotiable and will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will conduct clinical triage for all dermatology referrals and provide thorough assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and advice for both acute and chronic dermatological conditions. You will perform minor surgical procedures, including excision of low-risk basal cell carcinoma, following national guidelines. Additionally, you will offer prescription management in line with CCG formulary and support patient self-management plans.

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must hold relevant professional registration with the GMC (General Medical Council) and ensure you have up-to-date medical indemnity and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certification. You must possess a valid UK GMC number and demonstrate proven experience and competence in dermatology, including diagnosis, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
Essential Experience
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in dermatology, which is a requirement for this role. Additionally, you should have 1 year of NHS experience if you are not looking to be sponsored. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information and provide clear guidance to patients and colleagues. Experience working in a team environment and contributing to shared goals is essential.
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, proficiency in using clinical software for record-keeping and data analysis is considered desirable for this role. Candidates with technological proficiency may have an advantage in managing electronic patient records and utilizing digital tools for clinical decision-making and service improvement.
