Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Systemic Family Therapist to join the North Derbyshire CAMHS service. The post holder will provide systemic family therapy to young people under all areas of community CAMHS but predominantly those under core CAMHS. The post will be based in both Chesterfield and Buxton.
There will be the opportunity to work alongside the lead Systemic Family Therapist and a number of qualified, Systemic Practitioners.
We offer opportunities to support the larger CAMHS team to consider the Systemic aspects of their work, by facilitating systemic consultations, clinical supervision and mentoring practice.
The postholder will have a Masters degree qualified in Family Therapy, UKCP registered and be experienced in working with complex family dynamics & high levels of risk.
About the Role
You will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of evidenced based Systemic Family Therapy to children & young people with a wide range of complex mental health difficulties. You will work within a passionate, enthusiastic, compassionate team and will be expected to provide supervision and consultation to colleagues and take part in CPD and pathway development activities as necessary.

You will be working in a supportive and friendly environment with professionals from a variety of clinical backgrounds. The service offers a wide range of structured interventions in addition to systemic family therapy, like CBT, DBT, and IPT.
There are opportunities for building up professional networks within the service. We value the diversity of our clinicians and the different skill sets that they bring with them. We offer flexible working and have special leave and staff support policy in place.
The team operates out of bases in Chesterfield and Buxton and you may be required to travel between bases where necessary in order to provide a flexible service to young people and their families.

Essential Qualifications and Training
First degree and or professional qualification or equivalent in social work, nursing or psychology or other first qualification as recognised by the Association of Family Therapy (AFT).
Masters in Family Therapy
Registration (or pending qualification will be eligible for registration) as a systemic psychotherapist with UKCP
Desirable Qualifications and Training
Member of the Association of Family Therapy in UK

Experience of working with a wide variety of family and client groups.
Experience of working across the whole life span, with presenting problems that reflect a full range of clinical severity
Experience and knowledge of working with young people with mental health problems
Experience of managing risk in clinical cases
Evidence of engagement with clinical supervision
Experience of working within a multicultural framework
Desirable Experience
Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
Experience of working with other agencies including education and social care
Experience in working children, young people and families in a community setting
Experience of assessment and intervention with clients presenting with Neurodiversity
Experience of working with children/young people and their families with special educational needs, neurodevelopmental difficulties, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, and co-morbid mental health difficulties.
Experience of supervising other clinicians
Experience of leadership in a team
Essential Skills and Knowledge
Systemic knowledge on the assessment of psychological problems presented to CAMHS.
Ability to work professionally and cooperatively in multi-disciplinary teams
Systemic approach and knowledge to the formulation of presenting family and system problems that lead the care plan for the work to be carried out with each family
Ability to provide supervision to other systemic practitioners in junior roles in the team
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
Experience of working in multiagency teams like social care and education.
Experience of teaching on systemic methods, and techniques to multiagency groups
Ability to use methods to support data analysis of their work, for example Score15.
Experience of Clinical supervision models that would facilitate a supervisor’s role
