About the Position
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Information Governance Assurance Officer to join our dynamic team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. This role is critical in ensuring our organization meets its obligations under Data Protection legislation and maintains high standards of information governance practices.
Job Responsibilities
The Information Governance Assurance Officer will support the Data Protection Officer, Head of IG, and IG Managers in ensuring compliance with Data Protection legislation. The primary focus will be on conducting Data Protection Impact Assessment reviews and assisting in the management of individuals’ rights requests, including Subject Access Requests.

Remuneration Package
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £39,263 to £47,280 per annum, along with other benefits associated with NHS employment. This package is designed to attract and retain top talent in the information governance field.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess a degree level qualification or equivalent management experience. Expert knowledge and understanding of data protection legislation principles, including DPA, GDPR, FOIA, and NHS Code of Confidentiality, is essential. Alternatively, candidates must demonstrate willingness to study for a certificated course and pass the examination.
Desirable Skills
While not mandatory, knowledge of risk management processes and Health and Care Standards would be advantageous. Previous experience working within the NHS or other healthcare settings is also considered desirable.
