About the Role

Southwest Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the North Kirklees Older People Services based at Beckside Court, Batley. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the OPS Community Team. The position is offered as permanent, full-time with 10 Programmed Activities per week plus on-call duties, though part-time arrangements may be considered.

Essential Qualifications

Essential: Excellent knowledge in specialty. Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or Must have checked GMC eligibility and commenced the application process at the time of NHS jobs application. Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience; of which at least two years training in adult, old age or liaison psychiatry. MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies. Demonstrate emotional intelligence and leadership skills. Able to work flexibly and efficiently prioritise conflicting demands.

Desirable Experience

Desirable: Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service. Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine and A&E. Experience in clinical research and / or service evaluation. Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications. Has led clinical audits leading to service change. Demonstrates proactive leadership. Demonstrates problem solving skills.

Transport Requirements

Desirable: Holds and will use valid UK driving license. Smart professional appearance. The ability to travel between various locations within the trust may be required as part of this role.
