About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our dynamic academic respiratory unit at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for international medical professionals looking to relocate to the UK and advance their career within the NHS.
The successful candidate will join our existing team of fourteen NHS consultants, one Clinical Professor, and two nurse consultants. This role provides opportunities for sub-specialty development, respiratory-related research, and medical education, with close links to the Norwich Medical School.

Key Responsibilities
The appointee will be expected to:
- Participate in implementing the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme
- Serve on the Consultant Staff Committee
- Share on-call duties and in-patient duties with other respiratory consultants
- Attend appropriate MDT meetings
- Provide undergraduate and post-graduate medical teaching
- Offer clinical and educational supervision of junior doctors
- Contribute to departmental management duties
- Support clinical research activities
Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must:
- Hold Full GMC registration
- Have accreditation in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine
- Complete training and have experience CCT in respiratory and general internal medicine
- Have teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- possess bronchoscopy experience
- Have experience equivalent to the 5 years training period in NHS
- Have experience in Interstitial Lung Disease research
- Demonstrate wide experience of Respiratory Medicine
Desired Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- MD (Doctor of Medicine)
- PhD (Doctor of Philosophy)
- Management skills

About the Employer
Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a leading teaching hospital that treats more than one million patients annually. We serve people from Norfolk, neighbouring counties, and further afield. Our patients are referred by around 100 local GP practices, and we also function as a tertiary referral centre from other acute hospitals and primary care trusts.
We are currently conducting three multi-centred NIHR funded studies in Interstitial Lung Disease, asthma, and bronchiectasis. We work closely with partners in the Norwich Research Park and Norwich Radiology Academy to advance our research and development goals.
