Essential Requirements
Lived Experience: Essential to this role is lived experience of providing care and support to a loved one who has accessed secondary care adult mental health services in a personal/unpaid capacity. This experience must be within adult (age 18-65) community, day or inpatient mental health services.
Qualifications: Experience of managing and setting up events, activities and training is essential. While not required, experience of working or volunteering within NHS and/or third sector mental health organisations would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Carer Co-production and Engagement Facilitator, you will be responsible for:
- Sharing relevant personal experiences to support other carers on both one-to-one and group basis
- Building a network of carers who want to share their experiences to bring about change
- Coordinating co-production opportunities and leading on designated projects
- Facilitating and co-facilitating workshops to support co-production
- Creating communication and marketing materials
- Attending in-person events to promote the lived experience network
- Providing support and supervision to other members of the lived experience workforce

Person Specification
Essential Experience:
- Experience of managing and setting up events, activities and training
- Able to demonstrate and evidence examples of co-produced working
- Experience of planning, organising and scheduling activities in a pressured environment
- Previous experience working with people experiencing mental illness from different backgrounds
Desirable Experience:
- Experience of working or volunteering within NHS and/or third sector mental health organisations
- Experience of supporting individuals with perinatal mental health difficulties
- Experience of supporting people with eating disorders
