Person Specification

We are looking for candidates who meet the following essential criteria. Please ensure your application demonstrates how you meet each requirement.

Essential Qualifications

You must hold a BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology, a postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or equivalent for those trained before 1996) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and be eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS. You must possess advanced theoretical and applied knowledge of psychological approaches for people with psychological problems, including specialised psychological assessments and interventions for patients with complex psychological presentations and physical health conditions. Well-developed psychometric assessment skills and doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology are required.

Additional Requirements

You must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post and demonstrate excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English. The ability to work effectively within a team, across organisational boundaries, and manage competing demands is essential. You should also have good presentation and teaching skills and be proficient in IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
