Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team at Best Western PLUS Dartmouth. This permanent, full-time position offers an hourly wage of $17.25 for 40 hours per week. Primary Responsibilities
As a Kitchen Helper at Best Western PLUS Dartmouth, your responsibilities will be diverse and essential to smooth kitchen operations. You’ll be responsible for bringing clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and setting tables. You’ll also carry and replace linen as needed, ensuring cleanliness throughout the dining areas.
Dishwashing and Sanitation
Your duties will include operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, as well as sanitizing and washing dishes and other items by hand. You’ll clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units. Additionally, you’ll scour pots and pans to ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained.
Kitchen Maintenance
Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment is crucial. You’ll be responsible for clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs. You’ll also clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment. Food Preparation

Additionally, you’ll prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, portion and wrap foods, and package take-out food for our guests.
Inventory and Supply Management
You’ll play a key role in inventory management by keeping records of the quantities of food used. You’ll receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas. You’ll also replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas, as well as stock refrigerators and salad bars to ensure they’re always well-stocked.
Customer Service
As part of our team, you may occasionally serve customers at counters or buffet tables and take customers’ orders. This provides an opportunity to develop your customer service skills and interact directly with our guests, contributing to their positive experience at our hotel.
