Job Overview
We are currently seeking a Retail Sales Manager to oversee daily operations at our Surrey location. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage of $41.00. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail management, a strong understanding of produce operations, and the ability to lead and motivate a team of 5-10 staff members.
Key Responsibilities
As Retail Sales Manager, you will be responsible for directing and controlling daily operations to ensure the smooth functioning of our retail store. This includes evaluating daily operations, planning and organizing daily tasks, and managing staff by assigning duties and responsibilities. You will study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, and the effect of competitors’ operations on our sales.
Merchandising and Marketing
In this role, you will determine the merchandise and services to be sold in our store, implementing effective price and credit policies. You will develop and implement marketing strategies to attract customers and increase sales. Additionally, you will plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses to ensure the financial health of our operations.
Staff Management
Staff management is a critical component of this position. You will recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, ensuring that our team is well-trained and motivated. You will oversee payroll administration, conduct performance reviews, and supervise both office and volunteer staff. With a team size of 5-10 people, strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
Operational Excellence
You will be responsible for resolving issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages. Your ability to handle these situations effectively will contribute to maintaining high customer satisfaction levels. Additionally, you will determine staffing requirements based on business needs and seasonal fluctuations.
Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with point of sale systems, accounting software, and inventory control software. Proficiency in electronic mail, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and MS Outlook is also required. Experience with shipping and receiving processes will be considered an asset.
Technical Proficiencies
Technical skills are crucial for this position. You should be comfortable using various software systems to manage daily operations, track inventory, and process sales. Experience with accounting software will help you manage budgets and financial reporting effectively.
Leadership Abilities
Strong leadership abilities are essential for managing our team of 5-10 staff members. You should have experience in recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff, as well as conducting performance reviews. Your ability to motivate and lead a team will contribute to our store’s success.
Work Environment
This position is located in Surrey, BC (V4N 2T6), and requires on-site work. The schedule includes early morning, morning, day, and evening shifts, with hours ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week. The position starts as soon as possible, offering a great opportunity for immediate employment.
