Job Overview
We are currently seeking multiple Hairdressers to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled hairdressers to join a reputable salon in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Our salon is conveniently located at 10019 110 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 3J1. Grande Prairie is a vibrant city in northern Alberta with a growing population and thriving economy. Salary and Compensation
We offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, with potential for negotiation based on experience and qualifications. This full-time position involves 35 to 40 hours of work per week. We believe in compensating our staff fairly for their skills and expertise.
Employment Terms
This is a permanent, full-time position with flexible scheduling that may include day, weekend, and shift work. The position starts as soon as possible, and we have multiple vacancies available. Responsibilities
As a Hairdresser at IN-TO-IT, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of hair services to our clients. Your duties will include booking appointments, cutting and trimming hair according to client instructions or preferences, shampooing customers’ hair, shaving and trimming beards and mustaches, and providing various hair treatments such as waving, straightening, and tinting.
Client Services
You will provide exceptional customer service by suggesting hairstyles compatible with clients’ physical features and preferences. This includes applying bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or streak hair, applying hair extensions, and cleaning and styling wigs and hair pieces. You’ll also provide scalp conditioning massages to enhance the overall client experience.
Technical Skills
Applicants should be proficient in various hairdressing techniques including blow drying, hair braiding, iron waving/curling, permanents, extensions, twisting, locking, relaxing, spiking, pin curls, roller setting, and various coloring techniques such as frosting and streaking/highlights.
Salon Operations
In addition to client services, you will perform receptionist duties, maintain and order supplies, and help ensure the smooth operation of the salon. You may also be responsible for supervising other hair stylists, staff, and apprentices/students in training, especially for more experienced candidates.
Qualifications and Experience
While formal education requirements are not specified, we are looking for individuals with proven experience in the hairdressing industry. You should have a strong foundation in all aspects of hairdressing, including cutting, coloring, styling, and chemical treatments. Experience with various hair types and textures is highly valued.
