Job Description
The successful candidate will join a well-established and diverse multidisciplinary team providing highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and support for neuro-divergent children and young people and their families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking a range of assessments and delivering appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Promoting psychological thinking and formulation within the multidisciplinary team
- Providing consultation to multi-agency professionals and families
- Contributing to the supervision of colleagues, including assistant psychologists
- Providing training and teaching
- Supporting service improvement activities, including audit and service evaluation
Person Specification – Qualifications
Essential
- Honours Degree in Psychology
- Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
- Post-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent)
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist
Desirable
- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, or other fields of applied psychology
Person Specification – Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist
- Demonstrable further specialist training/experience through extensive clinical supervision
- Evidence of commitment to clinical quality and evidence-based practice
Desirable
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
Development Opportunities
This development post offers a structured pathway for career progression. On commencing in post, the successful applicant will have a development plan and agree a target timescale of between 6 months and 2 years for completion, depending on current skills and experience.
Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Senior Clinical Psychologist, with promotion to a substantive 8a post achieved on fulfilling required competencies.
