Job Description

The successful candidate will join a well-established and diverse multidisciplinary team providing highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and support for neuro-divergent children and young people and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking a range of assessments and delivering appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Promoting psychological thinking and formulation within the multidisciplinary team
  • Providing consultation to multi-agency professionals and families
  • Contributing to the supervision of colleagues, including assistant psychologists
  • Providing training and teaching
  • Supporting service improvement activities, including audit and service evaluation

Person Specification – Qualifications

Essential

  • Honours Degree in Psychology
  • Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Post-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent)
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist

Desirable

  • Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, or other fields of applied psychology

Person Specification – Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist
  • Demonstrable further specialist training/experience through extensive clinical supervision
  • Evidence of commitment to clinical quality and evidence-based practice

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision

Development Opportunities

This development post offers a structured pathway for career progression. On commencing in post, the successful applicant will have a development plan and agree a target timescale of between 6 months and 2 years for completion, depending on current skills and experience.
