Position Details
The successful candidate will independently perform a comprehensive range of highly specialized cardiac ultrasound investigations. This includes adult transthoracic echocardiograms, 3D imaging, contrast echocardiograms, and assisting with stress and transoesophageal echocardiograms. You will be responsible for performing accurate measurements, interpreting findings, and independently confirming diagnostic reports to the highest professional standards.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £64,156 to £71,148 per annum inclusive, plus a 15% Retention Premium subject to annual review. This position is classified as Band 8a under the Agenda for Change pay scheme. Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess a BSc Cardiac Physiology degree or equivalent qualification. RCCP registration and BSE Accreditation are mandatory requirements. Substantive Band 7 role experience is essential, demonstrating your advanced clinical expertise and professional development in echocardiography.
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, preference will be given to candidates holding an MSc in Health Cardiology, Echo, or Health Science. Additional certifications and specialized training in advanced echocardiography techniques will be considered advantageous.
Clinical Responsibilities
The Advanced Specialist Echocardiographer will perform and report on standard and complex adult echocardiograms. You will maintain the highest standards of clinical practice while ensuring accurate and reproducible measurements and quantification. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our diagnostic services and patient care outcomes.
Management and Leadership Duties
This role includes deputizing for the Senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist and covering managerial aspects of the position. You will assist in organizing the day-to-day clinical-technical services of the Cardiology diagnostic department, demonstrating leadership capabilities and managerial potential.

Work Location and Flexibility
This position is primarily based at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. However, the post holder may be required to work at other Trust sites as directed by service needs, providing diverse clinical experiences across our healthcare network.
