The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) serves as the main provider of acute hospital services for approximately half a million people across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and mid Wales. Hospital Locations

The post will include sessions at our two main hospital sites: Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury, which are located just 20 minutes’ drive apart. Both hospitals provide comprehensive acute services including accident & emergency, outpatients, diagnostics, inpatient medical care, and critical care facilities.

Salary and Benefits

This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum. The Trust operates within the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay scheme at Consultant grade. Visa and Immigration Requirements

From 6 April 2017, skilled worker applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) are also subject to this requirement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Duties include commitment to general diagnostic workload and participation in the general radiology on-call rota (1:24 cross county on call). There is currently no out of hours interventional rota.

Clinical Responsibilities

You will develop and maintain advanced clinical skills relating to interventional patients and enhance clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients. The role requires excellent team-working skills with the ability to work effectively in a multi-professional team environment.

Teaching and Training

The position involves organization and administration of the Radiology Department, teaching of other clinical staff including participation in regular clinico-radiological meetings with other Consultants, and training of junior Radiology staff.

Job Planning

A formal job plan will be agreed between the successful candidate and their Clinical Director within 3 months of starting. A full-time job plan is based on a 10 PA working week: 7.5 Programmed Activities (PAs) of Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs) for CPD, audit, teaching and research.

Essential Qualifications
