Service Location: Cygnet Lodge Salford
Cygnet Lodge Salford is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service specifically designed for women. The facility supports 24 individuals with primary diagnoses of mental illness, who may also present with complex secondary diagnoses including personality disorders. This service represents our commitment to providing specialized, gender-specific care in a supportive therapeutic environment.

Contract Type
This is a Fixed Term Contract position covering maternity leave, with a duration of 9-12 months. The role offers full-time employment at 40 hours per week, providing stability and comprehensive experience within the UK healthcare system.
Salary and Benefits

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
As a Qualified Psychologist, you will work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide comprehensive psychological care. Your responsibilities will include conducting psychological assessments, delivering therapy to individuals and groups, and collaboratively developing care plans with the MDT to ensure holistic patient care.
Professional Contributions
You will provide training and supervision to colleagues, offer consultation to teams, evaluate service effectiveness, contribute to service development initiatives, and engage in clinical research activities. There will be opportunities to disseminate outcomes through conference presentations and publications.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Professional Registration
Candidates must be HCPC registered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologists with substantial experience in clinical forensic or mental health settings. This registration is mandatory for practicing psychology in the United Kingdom.
Clinical Expertise
We seek professionals with experience in treating complex mental health difficulties including self-harm, physical and verbal aggression, history of sexual offending, and drug and alcohol problems. Preference will be given to candidates trained in complex therapies such as Schema-focused therapy, Cognitive Analytical therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
