Comprehensive Responsibilities
Personal Care Services
As a Personal Support Worker, you will provide essential personal care including assisting clients with bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Your role will involve administering bedside care and ensuring clients maintain their dignity and comfort at all times.
Medical Support Duties
You will be responsible for administering medications as prescribed, changing non-sterile dressings, and collecting specimens when required. These duties require attention to detail and adherence to proper medical protocols.
Nutritional Support
The position involves planning therapeutic diets and menus tailored to individual client needs. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals, assist with feeding when necessary, and ensure proper hydration throughout the day.
Mobility and Exercise Assistance
You will assist clients with regular exercise routines, including walking and other mobility exercises. For clients who benefit from aquatic therapy, you will provide assistance in water environments such as pools.
Household Management
Your duties will include performing light housekeeping and cleaning tasks, laundering clothing and household linens, mending clothing and linens, and shopping for food and household supplies. These tasks help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for our clients.
Companionship and Emotional Support
Beyond physical care, you will provide valuable companionship and emotional support to clients. This includes engaging in conversation, participating in activities, and demonstrating infant care to new parents when needed.
Work Schedule Flexibility
This position offers flexible scheduling with availability during early morning, morning, day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. Overtime is both required and available, providing opportunities for additional hours based on client needs and your availability.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential Certification
All applicants must possess a valid First Aid Certificate. This certification is crucial for ensuring client safety and providing emergency care when necessary.
Experience Preferences
While experience is not strictly required, previous experience in personal support work, healthcare, or caregiving roles is highly valued. We provide comprehensive training for successful candidates.
